Insight into improvements

TenCate is a multinational company that combines textile technology with chemical processes. The company develops and manufactures specialist materials with specific properties, e.g. protective materials for firefighting, as well as strong, lightweight materials for use in aerospace applications. By constantly adapting to changing conditions, TenCate has developed into a multinational organisation with locations in more than 15 countries and over 3,500 employees.

Our task was to analyse the advantages of automating the formatting of documents, such as brochures and product and data sheets. The results and benefits had to be measurable in terms of time, money and quality of the visual image.

Recouped within a year

We carried out a scan for TenCate. From this it emerged that TenCate was using thousands of types of formatting for its documentation. Our analysis revealed that the situation could be simplified through the use of a correspondence system, which would allow TenCate to cut costs and obtain a greater overview.

We provided TenCate with independent advice on suppliers of correspondence systems and developed a number of scenarios to make clear where the greatest benefits lay. Working with such systems takes less time and improves the consistency of an organisation’s corporate identity. The ROI is less than a year.
