Aegon occupies a leading position in both the business and private market. The organisation has an active brand policy that is geared towards sponsoring, amongst other things. Aegon wanted to achieve a greater impact from its branding at Aegon sites by increasing and improving the visibility of the brand.

Our task was to assess how the existing illuminated advertising could be made more visible.

We performed an analysis and suggested overhauling the basic design of the illuminated advertising and introducing new, innovative and sustainable lighting technology along with a new text and logo. One of the innovative aspects was the illumination of the contour lines of the logo at night, making the text and logo more clearly visible and legible.

Sustainable and CSR-proof

The new lighting technology was applied at 24 locations. This has resulted in legibility improving by 35%. As only the text and logo have been illuminated more sharply, the illuminated advertisements emit less light into their surrounding environment and have therefore reduced light pollution. In addition, energy consumption has fallen by 65% and maintenance costs have been cut by 60%. This means that Aegon has opted for a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.

The company recovered the costs of its investment within just a few years. Aegon has now also entrusted us with the management and maintenance of its illuminated advertising.
